To adapt to changing customer expectations and integrate new teaching methodologies, we have updated our teaching syllabus and created some new types of lessons for 2016:

StoryTime

For our youngest learners at Eastbourne and Vinehall, StoryTime develops students’ listening skills, extends their everyday vocabulary and stimulates their creativity and natural curiosity.

Enrichment

At Handcross, Dicker, Lancing and Academic Dicker, Enrichment helps students develop their receptive and productive English skills and deepens their cultural references of the UK, using real-life authentic materials such as adverts, leaflets, TV programmes, short films, songs, newspaper articles and magazines.

Explorations

Available at a number of centres, Explorations use CLIL methodology to enhance students’ general knowledge as well as their English through a range of interesting and stimulating subjects such as science, environment, ecology, space, energy, geography and technology.

Research Project

Working in groups, students at Dicker and Lancing complete research tasks based around a weekly topic or theme of interest and then present their findings/conclusions to the class by way of a sketch, performance, news story or short film, developing not just their English but also their interpersonal skills.

English Plus Options

Available at Dicker and Lancing, brand new English Plus options give students a flavour of studying academic subjects in English, enhance their subject-specific vocabulary and expand their knowledge of the subjects studied. Subjects available include Contemporary History, Economics, English Literature, Environmental Science, International Relations, Management, Maths, Politics, and Science.
