What centres provide the Cambridge: Young Learners exam?
Eastbourne, Handcross and Vinehall.
How will this exam benefit your son/daughter?
The Cambridge English: Young Learners (YL) exam is the perfect introduction to your child’s English development and is a recognised exam certificate. The exam is designed for candidates to gain confidence in taking exams and motivate them to learn English, as well as for parents to see progress and achievement. These exams set solid foundations not only for the understanding of the English language, but also the perception and practice of taking exams as a whole.
Where and when will this exam be taking place?
We are proud to announce that our Bede’s Dicker campus is a recognised, accredited exam centre by Cambridge English. Therefore, the exams will take place at Bede’s Dicker on Wednesday 19th July, Thursday 3rd August or Thursday 17th August 2017 (Handcross Only).
How will the exam work?
Cambridge YL exams are set at three different levels (Starters - A1, Movers - A1 or Flyers - A2). The Academic Manager over the period of the course will establish their level and will submit students individually for the appropriate exam.
The test will cover all four-language skills: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking and will involve engaging activities to motivate the students to do well.
The course will run for 2 weeks and dedicated exam preparation will take place instead of StoryTime (Eastbourne) and Enrichment (Vinehall & Handcross) accruing to 5 hours per week. The preparation will include a run through of the exam process and some mock tests.
How much will the exam cost?
The cost of this exam is an additional £150, which is paid at the time of booking. This will include all tuition for preparation, the exam, transport to and from Dicker and certificate, which will be sent to you by post.
